When it comes to our present situation, many have pointed to Ronald Reagan’s presidency as to the moment when things started to go downhill.
They could not be more correct. Take a look at the charts below.

These bi-wheels compare solar arcs and transits to the discovery of Pluto. From a mundane perspective, the Pluto chart is one of the most significant and overlooked charts. Why? Because Pluto’s archetype is so relevant. It addresses that which is toxic and dysfunctional. As such, it steers humanity into scenarios where these things must be addressed, fixed, healed – transformed.
To that end, EVERYTHING is broken. Sometimes I believe that the timing of Pluto’s discovery was not arbitrary. As scary and intense as he can be, only this intensity can possibly fix humanity.
So, what is the main focus of this chart’s dysfunction? I would say the Moon’s placement in Scorpio and the 4th house deserves a high priority. This placement is the lack of nurturing at the foundation, ruthlessness at our core and in our roots. It is emotional intensity and vindictiveness where caring and safety are needed. Worst, it is massive trauma, abuse, and horrors buried in our lineage (South Node conjunction). It is an evil karma in the family of humanity that has been passed down to present day. Pluto’s chart is signaling that this ugliness and brokenness have become intrinsic to the foundation of humanity, and our countries.
Pluto arrived by transit at the IC in November 1980, just a couple months prior to Regan’s inauguration. It did not leave the 4th house until around the mid-1990s. What did Reagan accomplish during his presidency? Well, domestic programs were significantly cut (Welfare, Medicaid, Social Security, Food Stamps, etc). Essentially, the 4th house was transformed by making it less caring and nurturing. All the basics that are needed to form a solid foundation of a society were destroyed. He gutted the place.
Know what else happened? The Soviet Union collapsed. Gorbachev’s Perestroika restructuring occurred as transit Pluto went square the Ascendant – Descendant axis. Then the eventual fall began as transit Pluto moved into conjunction with the Moon and officially fell when solar arc Neptune went square to that Ascendant – Descendant axis. (It should also be noted that the Berlin Wall was torn down as transit Pluto went into conjunction with the South Node just prior to that.) Pluto’s journey through the 4th destabilized the foundations of both the major super powers of the world.
But Pluto didn’t do this alone.
Solar arc (SA) Neptune arrived at the IC at the same time as transit Pluto, but it did not leave until the mid-2010s. Neptune’s long journey through this area manifested as the disillusion and disappointment of Generation X coming of age as it went square the Ascendant – Descendant axis (grunge music and culture), but also manifested as the confusion and manipulation – the propaganda – to gain our participation in dismantling our foundations. The Fairness Doctrine was abolished on August 4, 1987 as SA Neptune was anaretic. Think about that symbolic correlation a second. As Neptune was ending its journey in Libra, fairness was going away. It does not get more literal than that.
Then the Rush Limbaugh show began about a year later as SA Neptune ingressed into Scorpio. This was the moment that propaganda became weaponized. Limbaugh went on to become one of the top talk shows in the early 1990s as SA Neptune went square with Mercury. Again, this confusion went on much longer than Pluto. In a way, it kind of makes sense why Trump won the presidential election. Any population coming out of more than three decades of manipulation would be challenged to see the truth of what happened when the roots of their country had been ripped out. Trump became the “savior” who the panicked and confused placed their trust.
Pluto and Neptune moving through the 4th in Pluto’s chart was a one – two punch that we have never recovered from. Neptune convinced us that what happened was perfectly fine. But it goes even deeper than that. It also tricked us into believing that the cut-throat ruthlessness of that Scorpio Moon is what defines humanity. That it is our natural state. And if you can believe that, then capitalism is the logical next step because it maximizes and exacerbates all the worst characteristics of that debilitated Moon. In essence, we have confused one of the worst parts of this chart as something to be celebrated and cherished. (It should also be noted that transit Neptune’s prior journey through this area occurred during the beginning of the Cold War.)
This is why we are broken.
This is why our world, our country, is so nasty. It is why our domestic foundations have disappeared and why the majority are in debt or prison. And now the waters are about to get much choppier.
In April 2027 solar arc (SA) Pluto arrives at the IC and does not leave the 4th until the mid-2060s. In other words, what we experienced during those years from transit Pluto will be much stronger from SA Pluto and last much longer, close to possibly 40 years. This should not scare you. It should invigorate you. We have decades of Neptunian brainwashing to unravel and years of Plutonian destruction to fix. And why? Because we need to address that Scorpio Moon. We have free will. We have the ability to choose. And with the awareness of all the horrors that have been embedded into our foundations – from the United States to all the countries of the world that have been ravaged – we can build a world where capitalism is either dismantled or heavily redistributed to create the type of foundation that will be solid and ensure the success of all.
But this upcoming journey by SA Pluto is not alone either. It is joined by Pluto’s arrival by transit in its 7th house. This means that the transformations initiated at the 4th will require protest, strikes, boycotts, and even fighting in the 7th. It will require revolution. By the end of this, our country will not be recognizable. It may not even exist anymore. But none of that may matter. If the lessons of the United States are fully confronted and integrated, we could build a society that is truly for the people, by the people, and represents the type of evolutionary imperative that Pluto arrived to create.
And in perfect alignment to its archetype, it would not surprise me if this society is reborn out of the ashes of the old.
